With MDEV-34705, MariaDB introduced the ability to store binary logs inside InnoDB tablespace files ( .ibb ) instead of traditional flat sequential files. While this brings significant performance improvements, it also creates a compatibility challenge: legacy servers and tools cannot read the new format. This project will extend mariadb-binlog to read InnoDB-format binlogs and generate legacy-format binary log files as output, ensuring backward compatibility for downgrades, migrations, and third-party tooling. Deliverables - Command line option to generate Legacy Binlog file from InnoDB based Binlog - Checksum support - Unit and Integration tests - Design documentation covering architecture, usage, and known limitations
Pocket Paint is a drawing app currently being rewritten in Flutter. The original Android app includes advanced options like antialiasing and stroke smoothing, which help users create clean, high-quality artwork. However, these features are currently missing in the new Flutter version. This project will bridge that gap by bringing these advanced drawing capabilities to the new app. The final deliverables will include a native-matching "Advanced Options" UI menu, the integration of smoothing and antialiasing across all drawing tools (such as the Brush, Eraser, and Shapes), and ensuring that all artwork saves correctly and remains compatible with older Catrobat project files.
<p>The project mainly concentrates on automating the module site for collecting information about modules from all over Terasology organization and display their generated information on the module site it also focuses on migrating the web presence and it will include working on frontend layout and improving the UX and UI of the module site.</p>
<p>Tensors provide a natural and compact representation for massive multidimensional data with a high dimensionality which occur in disciplines like computational neuroscience, neuroinformatics, pattern/image recognition, signal processing and machine learning. My tensor project proposal is based on the foundations Boost’s uBlas implementation and focuses on extending uBLAS by a tensor and tensor operations. The extension shall primarily support dense tensors that can be projected on subtensors with ranges or slices. I also want to provide expressions templates for basic tensors operations using static polymorphism with generic lambdas. The library shall support all basic multilinear algebra operations such as the modal tensor contractions and tensor transpositions. Tensor object shall be able to communicate with Boost’s matrix and vector objects through expression templates and free functions. Repeating the primary design goals of uBlas, the tensor library shall be efficient with almost no abstraction penalties, functional, compatible and provide a convenient mathematical notation.</p>
<p>Radare2 has a very flexible console interface, including command line, different visual modes and Unix-like integration with other tools. But there are still a lot of things to be done, mainly:</p> <p>1) Unify similar code between all different modes</p> <p>2) Fixing Unicode support in RCanvas and Visual Panels mode</p> <p>3) Write a popup window widget for selection/autocompletion</p> <p>4) Add the table API/commands like it is done for graphs</p> <p>5) Add API and command for setting graph node background</p> <p>6) Show minigraph together with graph</p> <p>7) Radiff2 visual split-view mode</p> <p>8) Tests and documentation (r2book) for new commands</p>
<p>A major component of the Fedora Server is the Cockpit Project, a web-based management console for servers. Systemd provides timer support for system services. I would like to implement a module in Cockpit that manages scheduled tasks using systemd timers. This project is also mentioned in the TODO-list of the Cockpit feature roadmap page.</p>
<p>As a powerful machine learning toolkit, Shogun was achieved by the efforts of many developers. However, this also implicates the trouble with Shogun: some parts of the codes are outdated, or less optimized, and codes between modules are not unified. The problems dampen the developers’ experience with Shogun, and can lead to the obstruction for further implementations. Thus, my project will be focusing on cleaning-up and refactoring the codes of Shogun, including linalg and I/O libraries, and updating several data structures. I expect to improve the maintainability, stability and beauty of Shogun by the end of my work.</p>
The project proposes to implement the landing/home page for Pocket Paint, which will be a gallery kind of a view in which the user will be able able to see a preview of the images. This landing page will be the first view on opening the app and will allow the users to see all of the drawings that they have worked on or created with Paintroid and quickly select one to continue editing it or start afresh by creating a blank drawing. These images will also include .ora and .catrobat-image files as previews. The landing page will be similar to the one that has already been implemented in Pocket Code.
This project proposes to refactor and rewrite most of the production code and tests of Pocket Paint to Kotlin, implementing all the modern features designed specifically to streamline mobile development, replacing the deprecated parts of the code, etc. resulting in safer and more maintainable code for future development as well as introducing the newest features of Kotlin 1.6.20 and conforming to the new requirements.
Currently, certain essential signal-processing functions, called kernels here, in volk-gnssdr, the Vector-Optimized Library of Kernels for GNSS-SDR, are not completely optimized. This project hopes to diagnose performance-limiting kernels, implement missing SIMD/vector optimizations for both ARM (NEON) and RISC-V architectures (vector, or V, extension), then benchmark and validate the kernels’ continued functionalities.
<p>Goal of this project is to improve and build upon existing Grafana intergration for Performance Co-Pilot.</p> <ul> <li>Developing a <strong>reactive dashboard</strong> and using PCP metrics</li> <li>Implementing support for PCP <strong>derived metrics</strong> in the Vector data source, as described in the PCP REST API documentation</li> <li>Improving the <strong>metric search</strong> process by creating a new page for live, full-text search on PCP metric names, instances, instance domains and their descriptions, if any</li> </ul> <p>Based on performance metrics from PCP and a predefined rule set, the <strong>reactive dashboard</strong> should display only relevant metrics to the user. For example, if the CPU utilization is high, it should show an overview of CPU statistics and processes contributing load. The user should then be able to drill down into more specific areas of interest - e.g. present graphs about lock contention. For each recognized performance issue a link should be presented to the user on how to resolve the issue. In this way the dashboards guide users toward possible root cause of performance problems.</p>
Indigo Night is planned to be a beautiful Audio Visual journey, focused on storytelling. Based on pixel art, it will contain retro vibes and an old school style, which is immensely trending as of today. Salient features of this project include: Smooth Animations, Multiple Playable Characters, Beautiful environments as well as a musical delivery of several elements. Overall, I aim to create a groundbreaking modern experience in the Luna&Cat IDE app, by bringing together all those hours I invested into 2D games, indie as well as mainstream, and the game design experience I have, in Unity and RPG Maker.
<p>The project proposes the creation of content bringing content inspired by the Forestry and ExtraBees mods for Minecraft to Terasology.</p> <p>The content proposed includes an improved framework for merging items and blocks common to multiple modules (e.g. metals); a system providing tools for storing and simulating various genomes and their interactions; and a gameplay module, integrated with the currently existing JoshariasSurvival module, featuring bee breeding, genetic modification of bees, and renewable resource generation using bees.</p>
<p>Hardware accelerators are necessary or at least desirable in many SDR systems. GNU Radio provides an open and free platform for designing real time SDR system. This proposal elaborates the architecture of Verilog design simulation integration, utilizing the existing tool, Verilator. With this Integration, Verilog simulation could be run at real-time, as a part of the SDR system.</p>

<p>Metal Renegades is meant to feel like an immersive Old West-style world. Right now, it’s just a desert, with some mountains made out of sand. I propose to expand that with more interesting terrain typical of the Old West: mesas where rock around a plateau has eroded away, canyons where rivers have cut deep into the rock, mountains made of rock instead of sand, and more. Additionally, I plan to create a realistic distribution of flora and fauna.</p>
As MariaDB continues to evolve and improve, MySQL users may consider it as a better alternative. The absence of some spatial functions could be a drawback for some of them and potentially make the migration process difficult. My goal is to implement the following spatial functions: ST_IsValid, ST_Validate, - MBRCoveredBy, ST_Collect, ST_GeoHash, ST_Simplify, ST_LatFromGeoHash, ST_LatFromGeoHash and ST_PointFromGeoHash. For each new function to implement, I will start by importing the corresponding tests from the MySQL test suite. These tests serve as an optimal starting point. Given that the primary goal is to ensure compatibility between MySQL and MariaDB, passing the same set of tests on both codebases ensures uniform behaviour. Additionally, these tests serve as a valuable supplement to the documentation, offering detailed insights into the expected behaviour of each function while also documenting edge cases. Moreover, as new tests are written when fixing a bug, we can mitigate the risk of encountering previously resolved issues by the MySQL developers. The spatial functions already implemented, are defined in the sql/item_geofunc.h file. The new functions will also be placed in the same file and will be implemented by extending the interfaces that are already defined. For instance, ST_IsValid will extend Item_bool_func_args_geometry which is the class that defines the interface for all the MariaDB native functions returning boolean measurements of a single GEOMETRY argument. In MySQL, the functions ST_GeoHash(longitude, latitude, max_length) and ST_GeoHash(point, max_length) do not return a special datatype but a string. I want to make a more in-depth analysis regarding this function and evaluate if defining a custom datatype would be a viable option and if it would grant meaningful performance improvements.
<p>A proposal for developing GUI for generating configuration files for GNSS-SDR receiver. The project will deliver a friendly and intuitive GUI for the users.</p>
This project aims to develop a Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) library that acts as an AI Tutor facilitator within the Catrobat ecosystem. Instead of embedding AI logic directly, the library bridges between the user and their preferred pre-installed AI applications (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) using Android Intents.
This project enhances FLOSS by integrating QUANTUMSTRAND’s context-aware rendering to make malware string analysis faster and more actionable. Instead of overwhelming analysts with raw strings, the improved tool will use structural context, tagging (e.g., libraries, APIs, expert rules), and prevalence to highlight important information while muting noise.
<p>In some algorithms there is the need to compare two distances of two point pairs. Especially, computing distances on ellipsoid in Boost.Geometry used compare_distance() function, which need to calculate the actual distance of two geodesic segments on the ellipsoid. Boost.Geometry used Vincenty formula, the time complexity of this algorithm is hard to estimate and expensive.</p> <p>To reduce the time complexity, this project tried to use the following approaches:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Condition Division</strong>:Compute the Euclidean distances first, if the length of two segments are very close, defined not “far enough” means “very close”. then fall back to expensive geographic distance calculation otherwise return the result by comparing those numbers obtained by less expensive cartesian computation.</li> <li><strong>Calculation with Sectorial Area</strong>:Get cross-section through the center of ellipsoid and the geodesic segments, then calculate the sectorial area, which is easy to compare distances. </li> <li><strong>Calculation with Performing a local spheroid approximation and return the 2D distance by map projection</strong>:Perform a local spheroid approximation, then use methods of map projection to calculate the distances.</li> </ul>
<p>The 389 Directory Server is an enterprise class LDAP server, used in businesses globally to authenticate and identify people. A python administration framework, lib389, have been designed recently to replace existing legacy perl tools. It contains tools and libraries for testing and interacting with the Directory Server, but it is still a work in progress. The purpose of this project is to develop command line tools for configuring some of the existing Directory Server plugins in an easier way, and additionally improve the lib389 framework in general.</p>
<p>This project will create a modular framework for world generation in Destination: Sol. This will allow more flexibility in the way the world can be generated. Instead of the current system which has very few options for world generation, this project will lay the foundation for a system which can support many options.</p>
