keink(represent for KubeEdge IN kind) is a project for running local KubeEdge clusters using Docker container "nodes", so developers can install a multi-node edge cluster in one node. Now we need to support the latest version installation in keink. Expected Outcome: keink can install the latest version of KubeEdge and developers can quickly use keink to run kubeedge, and then develop applications on KubeEdge.
<p>The project aims to add support for ns-3’s built-in logging to SEM, also allowing the user to visualize the logs on an interactive dashboard. The user will be able to enable specific log components at a specified log level for their ns-3 scripts ran with SEM. In addition to this, the users will be provided with an interactive table (with different filter options) and a graph to easily visualize the logs generated.</p>
Canasta is a Docker-based MediaWiki distribution that simplifies the process of setting up a full-featured MediaWiki instance on virtually any server. Despite its extensive features, Canasta currently lacks support for running multiple wikis (a wiki family or wiki farm) within a single container. The aim of this project is to implement this missing functionality and enhance the Canasta command-line interface (CLI) to manage individual wikis within a wiki farm effectively.
In this proposal, I explain the machine learning support I aim to implement to generate SBGN maps. I am planning to make an API connection to a machine learning service, let it generate an SBGN map based on an explanatory text provided by the user and integrate the result to the current map. I also plan to give the user the option to reject the new map in the event that it does not match their expectations. The proposal also includes a section about some maintenance work on the backend of the project.
<p>Contraction is a technique used to speed up shortest-path computation by first creating contracted versions of the network. There are different ways of contracting a network. I am proposing a framework which supports the addition of new contraction techniques, and two contraction algorithms: dead end contraction and linear contraction. Installation of the framework together with the dead end contraction and also the implementation of linear contraction which will be used to refine the framework is intended to be completed during the GSoC.</p>
LiDAR and Camera could be considered the most important senses of autonomous vehicles. The camera can help to create a 2D map of the surroundings and LiDAR can help to make sense of depth and how far other objects are from the vehicle. This project implemented driver modules to establish reliable communication between a microcontroller and sensors/actuators. In the project, we implemented drivers for a Garmin LiDAR, an angular encoder, and a servo motor. We also implemented Constant Panning mode and Range at Angle mode.
Description: UnitedDeployment in OpenKruise enable users to manage a set of k8s workloads in whole while be able to customize the topology and replicas of each workload. This project extends the customization capability to arbitary workload fields by adding common patch fields, so that each subset of UnitedDeployment can have different metadata, container configuration etc. Expected Outcome: Support generate patches for new creating pods of each subset workload while the users can rollout and scale the UnitedDeployment in whole.

MathOptAI.jl is a Julia package for embedding machine learning models into optimization problems built using JuMP. These embeddings work as optimization surrogates and replace the terms in the original formulations with approximations represented by the added variables and constraints. Input convex neural networks have some useful properties such as convexity that enable approximations with similar quality with much simpler embedded formulations. This GSOC project will extend MathOptAI to add support for input convex neural networks.
<p>The main idea behind this project is to develop addons which allows to create/play tests and educational games. Also generate documentation specially oriented to users without any programming knowledge.</p> <p>The code will be mainly developed in Jython, an implementation of the Python programming language written in Java, through the scripting module of the gvSIG desktop 2.x branch.</p> <p>The developed tools will be used in geography and maps learning.</p>
<p>Nanoflann is a C++ library provided by MRPT for building KD-Trees. The library is a fork of the widely-used FLANN C++ library and is mostly optimized for lower dimensional point clouds. Most ICP algorithms for robot SLAM and localization require finding nearest neighbor in 2D/3D point clouds. Support for dynamic point clouds and nearest neighbour query in non flat spaces are two paramount features which are missing in the current nanoflann library.</p>
This project aims to develop a cross-platform application for Mankala using Qt and QML, extending the capabilities of the existing MankalaEngine maintained by the KDE Community. The application will feature a responsive, touch-friendly interface and support both local gameplay modes and real-time multiplayer using the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol. By combining a modern UI with networked communication, the project seeks to bring traditional Mankala gameplay to mobile devices while promoting open-source tools and accessibility.
<p>This library allows users to add Google Maps layers to an OpenLayers v3 map. To do this, the library replicates the OpenLayers objects to the Google Maps map using the Google Maps API. This makes it very easy for users to use a Google Maps basemap while still working with the OL3 syntax.</p> <p>The objectives for this summer is to integrate major features to the library such as support for WMS and TMS layers while integrating a few tools that will make future contributions to the library easier for everyone.</p>
<p>The LTE and Wi-Fi Coexistence module has been quite popular with ns-3 users. But currently, it is detached from the upstream ns-3-dev and missing improvements that has been implemented on the upstream. It is also created to implement TR 36.889 test scenarios, making it difficult to customize for other cases.</p> <p>The goal will be successfully merging the existing works to ns-3-dev, improving the flexibility of scenario deployment, and improving usability in terms of getting more useful data out of the simulations.</p>
CoreDNS (https://github.com/coredns/coredns) is a cloud-native DNS server with a focus on service discovery. While best known as the default DNS server for Kubernetes, CoreDNS is capable of handle many other scenarios within or outside of Kubernetes clusters to make easy infrastructure management. One such case is certificate management. This project is to provide ACME protocol support so that it is possible to have automatic certificate management through CoreDNS. More details and discussions are available in https://github.com/coredns/coredns/issues/3460.
ARM-based processors are becoming increasingly common in HPC environments, as in the AWS Graviton, Fujitsu A64FX (one of the world's fastest supercomputers), and various aarch64 nodes at European computing centres. If basf2 can't build on these systems, it's locked out of an excellent infrastructure that the experiment might benefit from. The goal of this project is to explore and evaluate modern, sustainable alternatives to the current Makefile-based approach for externals, ones that can support both x86 and ARM in a unified, maintainable way without duplicating large sections of build logic.
<p>This project involves showcasing people and their work for <a href="http://p5js.org/" target="_blank">http://p5js.org/</a> on the occasion of the upcoming 1.0 release to celebrate the power of community and collaboration in open source and creativity on the web. I’m particularly interested in projects co-created by people across disciplines and experience levels to demonstrate collaborative and inclusive practices of creating art and software together (for example, using the new p5.js Web Editor to remix sketches for an art installation).</p>
Neurobagel is a federated data ecosystem that allows researchers and other data users to find and consume research data that has to remain at their original institute for data governance reasons. Currently, the researcher or the data user has to answer a number of queries to get the desired results and it often requires iteration. My aim would be to make this search process more user-friendly by adding an LLM style chatbot interface. This is to be done by utilizing large language models that will be able to interpret the user prompts and initiate the API calls accurately giving the user the desired results.
In the proposed contributions to Haiku, I plan to revamp the Tracker Query Window's user interface, incorporating a Next Generation Find Panel to enhance search functionality. This involves rebuilding the UI from scratch, integrating features such as query submenus for saving, loading, and editing queries, along with options for selecting attributes and drive/folder locations for searching. Additionally, I aim to introduce real-time query result updates and improve the selection of search parameters for a more intuitive experience. Apart from this, I also intend to work on bugs and enhancements to the Tracker Windows and associated tickets.
JabRef's integration with LibreOffice currently lacks comprehensive support for citing references using the Citation Style Language (CSL), which is a highly requested feature among its user base. This project aims to add this feature by: 1. Implementing a user-friendly CSL style selection functionality for reference lists and in-text citations. 2. Ensuring seamless adaptation of the selected CSL style to a connected LibreOffice document instance. 3. Improving the existing architecture of JabRef's LibreOffice/OpenOffice integration code. 4. Writing comprehensive unit tests for the aforementioned features.
Vitess is a database clustering system for horizontal scaling of MySQL. One of the key goals of Vitess is to emulate MySQL behavior even while running multiple MySQL instances so that ORMs and frameworks work seamlessly. Vitess has its own in-built SQL-parser which it uses to understand the query and represent as structs for further processing. As of now, a lot of spatial MySQL functions are not parsed correctly and result in syntax errors. The task of the mentee would be to add parsing support for such functions and features which can be found at https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/spatial-analysis-functions.html
This project aims to implement a new communicator for GNUnet's Transport Next Generation (TNG) using the HTTP/3 protocol. The communicator will be implemented using the nghttp3, ngtcp2 and TLS libraries. Currently, GNUnet has implemented HTTP/2 plugin using curl and microhttpd under the old TRANSPORT architecture. This project will build on this existing code by introducing nghttp3 and ngtcp2 to implement a faster and better communicator HTTP/3 for the new TNG architecture. I will stay in close contact with my mentors and do my best to complete this project, and I am eager to continue contributing to GNUnet after GSoC 2024.
Print Dialogs are vital components for many users, facilitating their printing tasks efficiently. It's crucial that these dialogs remain updated with current print technologies, such as CUPS, and possess the flexibility to swiftly adopt emerging technologies. The Common Print Dialog Backends (CPDB) were introduced as an attempt at de-coupling the print technology (CUPS, print-to-file, that time also Google Cloud Print) from the GUI. The projects have to adopt the CPDB support only once and then OpenPrinting (or any upcoming cloud printing projects) takes care of the CPDB backend for the print technologies to be up-to-date with any changes. The task is to integrate CPDB with the LibreOffice print dialog.
Our final goal of this project is to obtain missing scores for Symbolic PathFinder(SPF) in SV-COMP. There are two main reasons why SPF is losing many points. First, there are too many unconfirmed results. Even though we provided correct results, we’re losing points because these results cannot be verified by witness validators. To address this, we should support generation of violation witness in a format that witness validators can verify. Second, there are incorrect results. To deal with this problem, we will analyze why SPF outputs wrong answers for certain task and repair SPF to work correctly. In addition, we will categorize why SPF outputs some incorrect results.
