The Code Review Assistant app for Rocket.Chat addresses the common challenge of delayed code reviews, where pull requests often remain unattended for extended periods. This app intelligently analyzes the files modified in a pull request, examines the commit history of those files, leverages the CODEOWNERS file, and reviews past activity to identify the most relevant reviewers and does preliminary LLM review. By notifying only the most appropriate contributors, the app streamlines the review process. Integrated directly within Rocket.Chat, it provides user-friendly reminders and updates, LLM does the sanity review, enabling developers to stay informed and collaborate more effectively on code reviews.
The GNU Anastasis is a key recovery system that allows the user to securely deposit shares of a core secret with an open set of escrow providers, to recover it if the secret is lost. The core secret itself is protected from the escrow providers by giving each provider only part of the information, and additionally by encrypting it with an identity-based key unknown to the providers. It prioritizes user privacy by implementing strong cryptographic protocols and privacy-enhancing features. Anastasis comes with an Android app. The GNU Taler Wallet is a software developed within the GNU Taler project. It serves as a user interface for managing digital payments and transactions securely. The app enables users to store digital currency, make payments, and monitor transaction history. Taler Wallet also comes with an Android app. The goals of the project are to design and implement: 1. A mechanism to allow any app to save its secret keys via Anastasis app. 2. A mechanism to allow any app to make its users pay for its services via Taler Wallet app. 3. A feature in Anastasis app that allows its users to pay the backup providers for their service via Taler Wallet app.
<p>LiveChat is a small and lightweight application designed to provide B2C communication between agents and website visitors. At present, Rocket.Chat’s LiveChat only allows users to chat in real-time with the agents. It does not have in-built support to allow video/audio calls. The aim of the project is to support video and audio calls using P2P webRTC architecture providing a frictionless experience for all the users(admin/manager/agent/visitor).</p>
<p>WARC, short for <strong>Web ARChive</strong>, is a data storage format for storing archived web pages. It is an extension of the ARC format, traditionally used by web crawlers to store data from web pages. This project is an effort to create a standalone library for writing WARC files from captured web resources and to integrate it with the current Wget2 codebase.</p>
<p>GNU social is a communication software used in federated/decentralized social networks. In order to archive such decentratization, some communication standards were created such as OStatus and ActivityPub.</p> <p>Currently, the ActivityPub plugin has an unfinished implementation of HTTP Signatures, making GNU social unable to federate with other pieces of software using the same standard, and it doesn't use a queue system.</p> <p>Furthermore, GNU social's client API, the Twitter-like API, needs some of its functionality reviewed, specially concerning third-party interfaces. The current implementation still requires Tools to use OAuth1 for authorization and it doesn't handle Bots the proper way.</p> <p>In a first stage, this proposal aims to replace the existing network system with a more sophisticated one that will support HTTP Signatures and to move existing ActivityStreams implementations into a plugin to be used by OStatus and the ActivityPub plugin. The second and final part of the proposal is reserved for the migration of OAuth1 to OAuth2 and adding support to the ActivityPub C2S API.</p>
<p>All changes in the Barrel databases and indexes (updates, creations and deletions) can be retrieved in Barrel using the HTTP API. There are many usages for such a log. The replication in barrel is based on it. Having a way to send these changes via RabbitMQ would open it to more applications and usages.</p>
Rocket.Chat is the place where teams from large organizations assemble, coordinate and communicate. People discuss their work, manage it and share their part on the platform. Miro is #1 cloud based online whiteboard for visual collaboration. Through my project, I aim to take a step in this direction by implementing Miro right in our chatbox. Through the ability of managing user’s boards and making rooms with members as assignees of a board and/or as members of a team, it would ameliorate user experience, as it would allow them to quickly view/update/share their boards with other channel members without even leaving the channel let alone the browser tab. The provides 10x more value than what our competitor's Miro app offer for their platform. We will give users ability to preview boards and embed boards in channels using Miro's live embed and give the feature of dynamic modal rendering specific to board items.
<p>GNU social is a communication software used in federated social networks. This project will: • Improvements on the Federated Requests Queue (which will be shared between OStatus and ActivityPub) • Improvements of the OEmbed plugin • Improvements on the Image Systems • Temporary posts • Removing posts with no engagement • Implementation of a circuit breaker</p>
<p>GNU Taler is a new electronic online payment system which provides privacy for customers and accountability for merchants. To pay with Taler, customers install an electronic wallet on their device. Before the first payment, the desired currency must be added to the wallet's balance by some other means of payment. Once the wallet is charged, payments on websites take only one click, are never falsely rejected by fraud detection and do not pose any risk of phishing or identity theft. The goal of this project is to create a component that sits between the seller's frontend and the GNU Taler merchant backend. This component should have a web interface, where payment buttons or payment forms will be configured. Additional goals include inventory management, where the seller can configure the available stock for an item and will get notified when their stock runs low. Currently, to accept payments with GNU Taler, people have to write their own code. What I propose to change is this mechanism. People will be able to communicate with the merchant’s backend via a simple API.</p>
RocketChat UIKit Playground is a proposed Component playground that will allow us to build, test, and browse our UIKit components in isolation. When executed correctly, they make prototyping new experiences both easy and fast, thanks to the consistency they create. The playground should also allow developers to generate configuration by dragging and dropping components from the library. Deployed Here --> https://intvivek.github.io/RCplayground/
This project aims to add Windows support to the previously Linux-only XMPP client Dino. Since Windows is installed on approximately 75% of all desktop/notebooks, this would greatly expand the possible audience of this XMPP client. Dino aims to be a simple-to-use XMPP client, as such, it makes sense to make onboarding easier by running on common platforms. Additionally, this project aims to add support for saving passwords in keyrings and adding support for SASL SCRAM, making passwords more secure in case the keyrings are.
<p>This is my proposal to implement Jingle file transfer in Smack utilizing my OMEMO implementation I made earlier this year as part of my bachelors thesis. Jingle is used in order to negotiate on a transportation method for sending or receiving data.</p>
<p>Enabling Rocket.Chat server administrator to use a NextCloud/ownCloud instance for storage of upload. Integrate NextCloud/ownCloud to Rocket.Chat and within Rocket.Chat client user interface to allow access to the contents of a user’s NextCloud/ownCloud instance.</p>
The current mobile UI testing framework for the Rocket.Chat Mobile app, Detox, poses several challenges including flaky test results, steep debugging overhead, and limited cross-platform capabilities. This project proposes a complete migration to Maestro, a modern and actively-maintained mobile UI testing framework designed to deliver more stable tests, simplified test authoring, and enhanced developer experience. The primary objective of this proposal is to improve the reliability, maintainability, and clarity of UI testing for the Rocket.Chat mobile codebase by setting up Maestro, converting existing tests, expanding test coverage, and integrating the testing pipeline into GitHub Actions CI/CD workflow.
<p>The idea of this project is to design and create all needed components for a vulnerabilities report system in Hex packages integrated in the <a href="https://hex.pm/" target="_blank">https://hex.pm/</a> website. The essential objective of the system would be to provide a method for the user to inform and stay informed about the status of vulnerability reports and packages, allowing him to personalize his experience with a followed packages list.</p>
<p>Ability to extend wget for a paritcular purpose using dynamically loadable modules would be a nice addition.</p> <p>(<a href="https://github.com/rockdaboot/wget2/wiki/GSOC-2017:-List-of-projects#design-and-implementation-of-a-framework-for-plugins" target="_blank">Reference idea</a>)</p>
<p>GNU social is a communication software used in federated social networks, however, it relies on outdated and unmaintained libraries. To this end, this project will rewrite the core code in the Symfony framework while maintaining the project's general architecture as well as it's philosophy.</p>
The project aims to develop a comprehensive prompt editor within Rocket.Chat, facilitating seamless interaction between users and open source language models (LLMs) such as Mistral, Llama 2, and Phi. Key objectives include enabling free-flowing conversations, robust conversation history management, and seamless prompt sharing across external applications. The initial focus will be on implementing this functionality within the Rocket.Chat Web App and Electron platform.
<p>Improve the Rust implementation of GNUnet utils, possibly including adding support for asynchronous IO using mio, or perhaps a higher level asynchronous IO library built upon it, such as rotor, mioco, eventual_io, or gj.</p>
Analyzing massive codebases like Rocket.Chat via iterative LLM agents causes context bloat, rapidly exceeding free-tier limits. This project builds a graph-native code navigator exposed as a Gemini MCP server. An offline indexer parses the full Rocket.Chat source via ts-morph, extracts a typed dependency graph (11 edge kinds, including Rocket.Chat-specific patterns like callbacks.run/add and Meteor method dispatch that break standard import analysis), and compresses function bodies into signature-only skeletons for ~4× token reduction. At query time, three composable MCP tools—search, graph, implement—let an LLM navigate by following real edges rather than ranking documents. An evaluation framework with ground-truth test cases (collected by Rocket.Chat experts and Claude) and 5 measured metrics closes the loop.
Rocket.Chat relies on Agenda to schedule and run critical background jobs, but administrators have no way to monitor or manage them without directly querying MongoDB. This project will build a dedicated Agenda Jobs Admin Page inside the Rocket.Chat admin panel, giving administrators full visibility and control over background jobs. The implementation will deliver a service layer deriving job status from existing Agenda metadata, six REST API endpoints, and a React admin UI built with Fuselage showing job status, execution history, failure details, and one-click actions to trigger, disable, or enable jobs.
This proposal outlines the development of an AI-powered Image Analysis App for Rocket.Chat. The project aims to introduce a feature that allows users to simply upload images, while the app automatically analyzes them using a multi-modal Large Language Model (LLM). The app will process images to identify locations, landmarks, points of interest, or event venues and retrieve up-to-date event and happening information from the internet. By integrating advanced image reasoning with real-time data retrieval, this solution enhances situational awareness and provides users with valuable insights. This proposal seeks to streamline information discovery, improve engagement, boost productivity, and elevate the overall user experience within the Rocket.chat ecosystem.
<p>The Rocket chat team has been sincerely working on improving the Android App by regularly adding great features and making them available to users through updates on the Google Play store. Play store is a great platform for making the app available to all users but there are countries where play services are banned/not available. Hence there is a great requirement for other app hosting platforms so that people of these countries can also use Rocket.Chat apps. This problem can be solved by using F-Droid. F-Droid is a community-maintained software repository for Android. Apps hosted on Fdroid can be installed from the F-Droid website or client app without the need to register. Being a catalog of Android FOSS applications. It is available in almost every country in the world. Rocket chat legacy android client is recently replaced by React Native and needs to be updated on F-Droid, Apart from this there are few other features like integrating Fastlane in the android module and use it to run the existing jobs and create a new job to upload the build to play console Other features include Improving CI workflow and create jobs to generate separate builds for both Fdroid and Play store.</p>
<p>Building a subtitle interface for the current video player. Popular formats of the subtitles would be supported along with multiple subtitles/captions for a single video. In addition to this, the user will be able to customize the subtitles/captions (If they want to, according to their own convenience). After this adding keyboard hotkeys support for the video player.</p>
