OrcaAL is an active learning tool built by past GSoC students for identifying orca calls. It achieves this by leveraging both expert and machine annotations to train better models in a semi-supervised way. Past efforts have been made mostly to develop a functional proof-of-concept and improve the performance of the tool. As such, this project aims to improve the underlying infrastructure supporting the tool, as well as enhance future developers' experience when expanding upon OrcaAL's capabilities.
<p>The sequencing technology produces the DNA sequence information of tumor cells. And cBioPortal is one of the leading web-tools which collected tumor sequencing result and provides visualization and exploring function. The tumor is not homogeneity, the mutations were accumulated when the cell divide. The different parts of a tumor can be the clone of different cells with obvious genetic distance respectively. This project aiming to construct a front end module to estimate the clonal evolutionary relationship using multi-region sequencing data.</p>
<p>Casbin is an open-source Authorization Library which supports access control models like ACL, RBAC, ABAC for Golang, Python, C/C++ and for many other languages. There are many casbin plugins which support different tools. Kubernetes being one of the biggest project in Go didn't have this support. So, this project is about developing a Casbin plugin for Kubernetes, which would authorize the users based upon the roles/policies defined in the Casbin policy file to access certain pods or clusters.</p>
This project enhances the 3D protein structure viewer in cBioPortal by integrating AlphaFold predicted structures alongside experimentally determined structures from PDB, expanding structural coverage for proteins lacking experimental data. I will extend the G2S backend to support AlphaFold metadata and residue mapping based on sequence alignment. The frontend will be updated to visualize both structure types and support mutation mapping and structure selection. Deliverables include backend API extensions, metadata integration and mapping, and frontend support for AlphaFold visualization.
My proposal aims to make Sugarizer work well on different devices like web, mobile, and desktop in version v2. I'll analyze Sugarizer's current version and come up with a plan to adapt it for various platforms. Tasks include implementing remaining screens, creating a tutorial, porting Electron functionality, and testing on Android
MusicBrainz contains data about upcoming and past events. This data is not surfaced, nor available to ListenBrainz users in any way. This data should be utilized in ListenBrainz to provide it's users with an easy way to discover events. This will be achieved by copying over, and caching the event data from MusicBrainz in a suitable format, and creating endpoints, as well as adequate frontend to display this information. The user should be able to discover events, gather event data from ListenBrainz itself, and find events relevant to them based on their preferred artists.
This integration aims to connect OpenELIS, a laboratory information system, with a FHIR-Based Open Client Registry which will allow users to search for patients within their local OpenELIS system, If the patient isn't found locally, search the client registry then Import patient information from the client registry to OpenELIS. In simpler terms, this lets users find patients within their local system and if not found, search for them in a central database and bring their information back into the local system.
Crypt4GH is a file format developed by GA4GH that keeps genomic data encrypted at rest and in transit. Currently, implementations of the TES API do not support processing Crypt4GH files. I propose an implementation of the TES API that handles Crypt4GH files through the use of middleware that alters the initial TES request in order decrypt Crypt4GH files before processing. First, I will create a "TES playground" that is able to run a simple task. Then, I will add to the functionality of this playground in order to demonstrate an implementation of the TES API that can handle a Crypt4GH-encrypted file as an input. This project will hopefully serve as a proof-of-concept to inform future standard-setting works.
Working on a measurement-first performance framework for Music Blocks v3 (Sugar Labs) , a browser-based visual music programming tool used by students and educators worldwide. Focused on eliminating UI freezes during LilyPond export, MIDI import, and complex block graph execution by introducing progress feedback, cancellation support, a frame-budget execution scheduler, and Web Worker offloading. Building runtime instrumentation using the Performance Observer API and integrating automated CI benchmarks via GitHub Actions to prevent regressions.

<p>TaskCluster workers are hosted on services such as EC2 and currently expose ports to the internet to allow http-clients to call API endpoints. This setup may not be feasible in a data center setup. Livelog proxy aims to mitigate this problem by allowing workers to connect to the proxy over an outgoing websocket connection and exposing API endpoints to the internet. Any incoming requests will be reverse proxied to the worker over its outgoing connection. This is implemented as a distributed system to handle high amounts of traffic.</p>
This project entails the creation of the MP-BioPath tool into the FI Viz Cytoscape Plugin. Biological pathways model the set of actions that molecules in a biological cell can perform. What the MP-BioPath does is model the activity of certain biological pathways, helping to predict the response of the pathways to external perturbances. The MP-Biopath tool already exists, but has not been made accessible through the FI Viz Cytoscape Plugin, which is an app designed to analyze the pathways involved with diseases such as cancer. My job would be to incorporate the MP-BioPath tool into the FI Viz Cytoscape Plugin and develop customized visualizations for showing the result of MP-BioPath. If I have time remaining, I intend to deliver a baseline Tensorflow model which utilizes the MP-BioPath tool to create predictions for pathway activity.

<h4>Platform Independent enviroCar App</h4> <p>enviroCar is a Citizen Science tool that is used by citizens, traffic planners, scientists and companies to collect and analyze vehicle information in various traffic situations and gain insight to support the development of sustainable traffic concepts.</p> <p>The enviroCar Android App connects with a car's onboard sensors via OBD-II and records the sensors data to generate real-time information like vehicle speed, revolutions per minute and calculates additional information, such as fuel consumption, estimated fuel cost and CO2 emissions. The only limitation being that it is only available for Android users.</p> <p>This summer I will be working closely with the community and mentors of 52°North to lay the foundation of a platform independent enviroCar app to allow iOS users to access the amazing features of enviroCar.</p>
The project aims to extend API Dash with Git-backed collections, a visual workflow builder, and a collection dashboard. This will enable developers to version and share API collections, design and execute multi-step API flows, and monitor API health and performance within a single unified tool. Problem Being Solved: API Dash currently stores requests in a flat local structure without version control or collaboration support. The existing load-all/manual-save model limits reliable syncing, introduces risk of data loss, and prevents building higher-level features like analytics and workflows. Additionally, users lack visibility into API performance and have no structured way to define multi-step API interactions. Proposed Solution: 1. A refactored persistence layer using request-level autosave (Hive LazyBox) for reliable and granular data storage. 2. A GitHub integration layer to enable version control, sharing, and collaboration on collections. 3. A visual workflow builder with a node-based interface to define and execute multi-step API flows. 4. An execution engine to handle request chaining, conditions, and shared data flow between steps. 5. A dashboard system to aggregate and visualize API and workflow performance metrics. Key Deliverables: 1. Request-level autosave system replacing the current bulk-save model. 2. Git support for collections (connect, import/export, push/pull, commit history, rollback). 3. Visual workflow builder with execution support, run history, and DashBot-assisted workflow generation from natural-language prompts. 4. Collection and workflow dashboards showing success rates, failures, and latency signals. 5. Production-ready documentation, testing, and UX polish for real-world usage.
Reflective learning enables students to recall past experiences, develop critical thinking skills, and improve future actions by analyzing them. This technique allows students to learn quickly and intelligently. Hence, this project aims to implement a reflective learning feature in Music Blocks using open source LLMs and frameworks like LangChain to harness AI to assist student in their reflective learning process.
