EmbeddedChat is Rocket.Chat's embeddable chat widget, but RC 8.x broke several core endpoints, Matrix federation support is absent, there is no AI extensibility point, mobile responsiveness is inconsistent, and WCAG compliance is incomplete. This project restores RC 8.x compatibility and completes the DDP client migration, adds production-ready Matrix federation via a mode prop backed by an upstream RC core fix, introduces a standalone provider-agnostic AI adapter package, systematically fixes mobile viewport issues, and brings the widget to WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. Working POCs exist for all five goals
Rocket.Chat users across multiple time zones need a way to schedule messages for optimal delivery, enhancing global collaboration. This project will implement a native message scheduling feature by integrating a scheduling UI, a cron job to send messages at the designated time, and a contextual bar UI to view and cancel scheduled messages. It will also support scheduling in threads, improve error handling, and include comprehensive documentation and unit tests. The deliverables include a MongoDB collection for scheduled messages, APIs (chat.scheduleMessage, chat.getScheduledMessages, chat.cancelScheduledMessage), a cron job (sendScheduledMessages), scheduling and viewing/canceling UIs, thread support, error handling, documentation, and tests
<p>This project aims to implement a special type of channel/room in Rocket Chat. The messages in this channel would vanish after a certain amount of time. In simple words, there would be a setting that decides after how much time messages would be deleted from the channel. Neither deleted messages can’t be retrieved back nor the feature can be deactivated once the channel has been created. The room would also vanish after its destruction time.</p>
The WebAuthn standard, now widely available on modern Android and iOS devices, enable convenient passwordless authentication satisfying 2FA (biometrics and "have device"). Frequently this involves scanning a QR code followed by unintrusive biometrics such as FaceID on iOS. This project aims to integrate WebAuthn in Rocket.Chat authentication to offer a passwordless, secure login experience. The implementation needs to be aligned with Rocket.Chat’s existing authentication system while ensuring backward compatibility with all existing login methods.
Create a simpler desktop application where there is a simple channels list on a little window and each chat will open in another separated window, making it possible to talk with people without opening a big window. Making the usage of Rocket.chat more seamless. This project will make extensive use of Rocket.Chat's In-App Chat APIs (REST APIs). The application will be deployable on all platforms supported by Electron - Windows, Mac, Linux, and more
<p><em>CrashDragon</em>, the product of my last year's GSoC project, should be extended and major memory leaks should be fixed. New features which turned out to be important in prudction use should be added and existing ones revised.</p>
Rocket.Chat is the place where teams from large organizations assemble, coordinate and communicate. People discuss their work, manage it and share their part on the platform. ClickUp is #1 cloud based task/project management platform but the problem is Rocket.Chat marketplace does not have any ClickUp app for directly managing a user's workspace. Through my project, I aim to take a step in this direction by implementing ClickUp right in our chatbox. Through the ability of managing user’s tasks and making rooms with members as assignees of a task and/or as members of a workspace, it would ameliorate user experience, as it would allow them to quickly view/update/share their tasks with other channel members without even leaving the channel let alone the browser tab.
<p>Livechat is a package that adds the ability to embed a pop-up support chat to your website. For example when you want to interact with users visiting your website and help them with their problems, then this feature of RocketChat helps you with that. All you need to do embed a script on to your static website. Live chat agents who wield this tool use it to make customers happy and satisfied.</p> <p>This project adds real-time monitoring to livechat which will be an important feature as this will be helpful for livechat agents in the following way:-</p> <ul> <li><strong>More information about the user</strong>:- Track important information related to visitors, such as the <em>current page, location, time on site, local time</em>, etc, even though the visitor has not yet started a conversation with an agent.</li> <li><strong>Edit Info Panel for livechat with the user</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Increase Response TIme</strong>:- Agent will be able to start a conversation with a specific visitor directly from the list, improving the proactivity of the Live chat team.</li> <li><strong>New Admin Panel providing more info of users</strong></li> <li><strong>Add sentiment analysis on user messages</strong>:- When chat will be closed, sentiment analysis will be applied on user messages and shown on the admin dashboard for future use.</li> </ul>
<p>According to an estimation, over 15% or one billion people of the total world population experience significant disabilities. These disabilities can be major or minor but the barriers in social and economic sectors for such people are the same. Even in the field of technology, people with disabilities are usually ignored. They find it tough to use websites and mobile applications. Considering such people a part of society and to make the live chat widget accessible to such people, I will implement a user-accessible mode. This accessible mode will help them to use the exciting features of the live chat widget.</p>

The Code Review Assistant app for Rocket.Chat addresses the common challenge of delayed code reviews, where pull requests often remain unattended for extended periods. This app intelligently analyzes the files modified in a pull request, examines the commit history of those files, leverages the CODEOWNERS file, and reviews past activity to identify the most relevant reviewers and does preliminary LLM review. By notifying only the most appropriate contributors, the app streamlines the review process. Integrated directly within Rocket.Chat, it provides user-friendly reminders and updates, LLM does the sanity review, enabling developers to stay informed and collaborate more effectively on code reviews.
This project aims to enhance team productivity within agile environments by using a chatbot-based approach. By developing a chatbot that is customized to meet the needs of agile workflows, teams will be able to streamline communication, task management, and meeting coordination. This project will be implemented via the apps engine in Rocket.chat.
<p>This project aims to create a new kind of channel where instead of sending messages, users would be able to create task cards with several custom fields.</p> <p>Those tasks would then work as a thread header, allowing comments in the format of a thread.</p> <p>The tasks will be stored in a new collection in MongoDB and MiniMogo</p> <p>The client would then render this task message with a different renderer, displaying the assigned user and the current task status</p>
<p>This project aims to improve the existing Nextcloud integration within Rocket.Chat. Seamless authentication and improving the UI and UX of the file picker are the main focus.</p>
OpenClaw is an open-source autonomous AI agent framework that allows users to run powerful local AI agents capable of executing complex tasks, using tools, and maintaining long-term memory. However, it currently lacks native integration with Rocket.Chat, a widely used open-source team collaboration platform. This project aims to bridge this gap by building a complete bidirectional integration between OpenClaw and Rocket.Chat. Users will be able to interact with OpenClaw agents directly within Rocket.Chat channels and direct messages, enabling seamless automation, task execution, and proactive responses inside their familiar workspace. I plan to develop a robust Rocket.Chat adapter/plugin that includes bot user creation, REST API integration, incoming and outgoing webhook support, secure authentication, and reliable message handling. Key Deliverables: Production ready OpenClaw plugin for Rocket.Chat Full support for direct messages and public/private channels Smooth sending and receiving of messages with OpenClaw agents Proper configuration support in openclaw.json Comprehensive documentation and setup guide Upon completion, Rocket.Chat users will be able to harness the power of autonomous AI agents for tasks like security audits, reminders, code assistance, and custom workflows directly from within Rocket.Chat.
This project automates receipt processing and expense reporting using OCR capabilities of multi-modal LLMs to address the time-consuming nature of manual expense tracking. Users upload receipts into designated chat channels—each representing a specific event, time period, or trip—where the system validates the image, extracts structured data such as amount, date, and items, and categorizes expenses automatically. The processed data is stored persistently, allowing users to generate detailed spending reports in various formats (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom date ranges), filter by specific channels, or view overall spending. Additional functionalities include natural language query support, optional slash command integration to perform actions like showing receipt data. All designed to streamline financial tracking by minimizing manual input and enabling efficient, structured querying of expense data.
According to the state of JS ranking 2021, Vuejs has a 100% awareness rate which is coming from 99% from the previous year. This alone shows that there is an existing ecosystem of Vuejs developers and more developers will likely write Vuejs at a point in their career. So what point am I trying to make? Jitsi is a state-of-the-art video conferencing tool but doesn’t have an official Vuejs SDK to make integration seamless for Vuejs developers. Jitsi Vuejs SDK will provide a wrapper above the existing Javascript SDK. It will also expose the current implementation to the wide range of tools within the Vuejs ecosystem.
<p>Proposal for App: Bad-Words Filter. Rocket.Chat is Teams collaboration platform where people from different parts of world come together and collaborate. Some people can be toxic at times and can use harsh words against fellow members. This app can be helpful for Rocket.Chat platform for filtering bad-words.</p>
The objective of this project is to develop jvb-js, a WebRTC client library for building real-time audio and video applications with Jitsi Videobridge, a Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU).
As Generative AI technology is improving and being implemented in various applications, I am interested in using it in Rocket.Chat. While we already have a Giphy App that can fetch GIFs from Giphy, I propose to create an RC app that can generate GIFs based on user prompts. The RC app will allow users to enter their prompts, wait for the generation process, and then use the generated GIF seamlessly anywhere. We will be using an open-source & self-deployed model to generate the GIF. To ensure the app can serve multiple users in parallel, we will use the concept of databases as Task Queues, to store the status of multiple GIF generations in parallel. Excited to see what people generate using this feature.✨🚀

Playground 2.0 is an updated version of the Rocket.chat's Playground, which is an app development platform for creating custom apps and integrations. The new version includes several features to accelerate the development process and make it more visual. The first feature is the addition of an example section, which includes a collection of templates that can be used as a starting point for app development. This will save time and effort for developers who are new to app development and help them get started quickly. The second feature is the implementation of a project concept where multiple screens can be grouped, saved, and revisited at a later time. This will enable developers to work on different parts of the app separately and easily switch between them. The third feature is the use of the flow concept from https://reactflow.dev. This will allow each project to be represented as a flow, with each screen represented by a block. Actions can be connected to other blocks to visualise the app's lifecycle. This will make the development process more visual and easier to understand. The last feature is the ability to "compile the flow" and run it as a demo. This will allow developers to quickly present a mock or app to validate its usefulness. This will save time and effort for developers who want to get feedback on their app quickly. Overall, Playground 2.0 is an app development platform that makes the development process faster, more visual, and easier to understand. It includes several features that will help developers create custom apps and integrations quickly and efficiently.
