Open Rocket.Chat communities face a growing problem where new accounts join, flood multiple public channels with spam, and disappear before any moderator can respond. Current moderation is entirely reactive and manual, which is simply too slow for coordinated spam campaigns. This project builds a proactive, human-validated anti-spam system that monitors new users during their first 6 to 10 weeks and responds through a graduated restriction system called Moderation Levels, where every action is proportional, reversible, and requires admin approval before anything permanent happens. The system is built as a Rocket.Chat App on the Apps Engine with a seven gate detection pipeline running entirely in memory for speed. Gates catch exact duplicates via hash matching, polymorphic spam via cosine similarity, cross channel floods, rate flooding, rapid room spread, and phishing link campaigns. A four tier Moderation Level system escalates naturally with repeat behavior, from a friendly DM warning through posting cool downs to a permanent block that only lifts when an admin vouches for the user. The admin control layer includes a live dashboard, a full slash command suite, and AI powered on demand summaries so admins have everything they need to make confident moderation decisions without opening a single log file. Deliverables include a fully functional installable Rocket.Chat App covering the complete detection pipeline, a configurable Moderation Level system, a behavioral scoring engine, enriched admin notifications with message history, AI powered user analysis commands, a paginated admin dashboard built for scale, daily scheduled reporting, and complete documentation covering architecture, configuration, and known limitations.
Create a simpler desktop application where there is a simple channels list on a little window and each chat will open in another separated window, making it possible to talk with people without opening a big window. Making the usage of Rocket.chat more seamless. This project will make extensive use of Rocket.Chat's In-App Chat APIs (REST APIs). The application will be deployable on all platforms supported by Electron - Windows, Mac, Linux, and more
<p>Sometimes, users might want to use the desktop window while communicating with another person through Jitsi-meet. However, Jitsi-meet-electron does not allow the user to resize its window smaller than a certain size. This project is to provide an option for the user to toggle between the Normal Mode and the Micro Mode of Jitsi-meet-electron that will be located at one corner of the desktop. If the user wants to carry on their own work while being able to look at the remote user’s screen, they can toggle to the Micro Mode to clear out their desktop view. This Micro Mode for Jitsi-meet’s video communication will provide lots of usage freedom for the user as their desktop screen no longer has to be tied up with the unnecessarily large GUI of the Jitsi-meet-electron, allowing more room for multitasking while staying connected to the call.</p>
This project will focus on implementing a number of high priority features for Zulip web app. This includes addition of new features, improving user experience, refactoring some methods and fixing minor bugs.
This project aims to deliver a Rocket.Chat App that uses generative AI to summarize any conversations across threads, channels, and DMs. For example, a user can say, "summarize my unread messages yesterday in the #engineering channel". The users can ask AI any questions regarding the messages, and subscribe to personal digests that summarize selected channels on a recurring schedule. The AI summarizer will boost the productivity of Rocket.Chat users with faster information digest, and improve community engagement by keeping everyone on the same page.
<p>The proposed project gives user the ability to create voice channels that would allow users to quickly enter and leave pre-existing voice calls from Rocket.Chat's own UI, enabling a more practical usage of audio features for team collaboration. Also adding the UI elements and integrating them with an established audio platform to handle calls.</p>

Modifying the jitsi/lib-jitsi-meet library will enable the configuration of media tracks, allowing advanced user audio settings to be toggled during a conference. The expected deliverables are: • New section in Jitsi Meet audio settings, allowing users participating in a conference to toggle echo cancellation, auto gain control, noise suppression and stereo.
This project automates receipt processing and expense reporting using OCR capabilities of multi-modal LLMs to address the time-consuming nature of manual expense tracking. Users upload receipts into designated chat channels—each representing a specific event, time period, or trip—where the system validates the image, extracts structured data such as amount, date, and items, and categorizes expenses automatically. The processed data is stored persistently, allowing users to generate detailed spending reports in various formats (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom date ranges), filter by specific channels, or view overall spending. Additional functionalities include natural language query support, optional slash command integration to perform actions like showing receipt data. All designed to streamline financial tracking by minimizing manual input and enabling efficient, structured querying of expense data.
The project aims to develop a comprehensive prompt editor within Rocket.Chat, facilitating seamless interaction between users and open source language models (LLMs) such as Mistral, Llama 2, and Phi. Key objectives include enabling free-flowing conversations, robust conversation history management, and seamless prompt sharing across external applications. The initial focus will be on implementing this functionality within the Rocket.Chat Web App and Electron platform.
<p>To create an Angular 4 based Progressive Web App (PWA) lite client that would be able to used as an alternative of native clients like Rocket.Chat.Android or Rocket.Chat.iOS client.</p>

Being able to add text formatting in the optional message field. 4. Being able to provide a preview of the message before sharing it. 5. Ability to show “posted from this channel” below the forwarded message
Microsoft Teams is unquestionably the most popular and frequently used closed source team collaboration system in the world. Many administrators and users of open source Rocket.Chat team chat will have needs to bridge between their open source users and legacy users still on Teams. This project will create a Rocket.Chat App that will act as a bridge between Rocket.Chat and Microsoft Teams. Users on one system should be able to chat with the other through shared channels. Rich interactions including DM, emojis, embedded graphics, shared youtube links and so on should also be supported. A Teams Bridge Rocket.Chat App will be published on Rocket.Chat Apps Marketplace together with documentation for how to use it.
Rocket.Chat is the place where teams from large organizations assemble, coordinate and communicate. People discuss their work, manage it and share their part on the platform. Miro is #1 cloud based online whiteboard for visual collaboration. Through my project, I aim to take a step in this direction by implementing Miro right in our chatbox. Through the ability of managing user’s boards and making rooms with members as assignees of a board and/or as members of a team, it would ameliorate user experience, as it would allow them to quickly view/update/share their boards with other channel members without even leaving the channel let alone the browser tab. The provides 10x more value than what our competitor's Miro app offer for their platform. We will give users ability to preview boards and embed boards in channels using Miro's live embed and give the feature of dynamic modal rendering specific to board items.
<p>An app developed on Rocket.Chat App engine to integrate Google Calendar with Rocket.Chat. This can be used to create and manage personal calendar events. It can also be used to create public events which can be shared with multiple users and takes cares of reminders and notifications.</p>
The Natural Language Bridge to Legacy Email project represents a groundbreaking solution to one of modern communication's most persistent challenges: The continued widespread use of legacy email alongside newer messaging platforms. Despite the evolution of systems like Rocket.Chat, email remains deeply entrenched in global workflows and communities. This project elegantly bridges this divide by creating a seamless interface that allows Rocket.Chat users to interact with email systems through natural language commands, bringing legacy email functionality directly into the Rocket.Chat environment. By leveraging advanced LLM capabilities, this integration will allow users to perform complex email operations without leaving their Rocket.Chat conversations. The app responds to natural language instructions, enabling email tasks to be completed with simple, intuitive commands that feel like conversational requests.
OpenClaw is an open-source autonomous AI agent framework that allows users to run powerful local AI agents capable of executing complex tasks, using tools, and maintaining long-term memory. However, it currently lacks native integration with Rocket.Chat, a widely used open-source team collaboration platform. This project aims to bridge this gap by building a complete bidirectional integration between OpenClaw and Rocket.Chat. Users will be able to interact with OpenClaw agents directly within Rocket.Chat channels and direct messages, enabling seamless automation, task execution, and proactive responses inside their familiar workspace. I plan to develop a robust Rocket.Chat adapter/plugin that includes bot user creation, REST API integration, incoming and outgoing webhook support, secure authentication, and reliable message handling. Key Deliverables: Production ready OpenClaw plugin for Rocket.Chat Full support for direct messages and public/private channels Smooth sending and receiving of messages with OpenClaw agents Proper configuration support in openclaw.json Comprehensive documentation and setup guide Upon completion, Rocket.Chat users will be able to harness the power of autonomous AI agents for tasks like security audits, reminders, code assistance, and custom workflows directly from within Rocket.Chat.
The Code Review Assistant app for Rocket.Chat addresses the common challenge of delayed code reviews, where pull requests often remain unattended for extended periods. This app intelligently analyzes the files modified in a pull request, examines the commit history of those files, leverages the CODEOWNERS file, and reviews past activity to identify the most relevant reviewers and does preliminary LLM review. By notifying only the most appropriate contributors, the app streamlines the review process. Integrated directly within Rocket.Chat, it provides user-friendly reminders and updates, LLM does the sanity review, enabling developers to stay informed and collaborate more effectively on code reviews.
<p>This project aims to implement a special type of channel/room in Rocket Chat. The messages in this channel would vanish after a certain amount of time. In simple words, there would be a setting that decides after how much time messages would be deleted from the channel. Neither deleted messages can’t be retrieved back nor the feature can be deactivated once the channel has been created. The room would also vanish after its destruction time.</p>
The current mobile UI testing framework for the Rocket.Chat Mobile app, Detox, poses several challenges including flaky test results, steep debugging overhead, and limited cross-platform capabilities. This project proposes a complete migration to Maestro, a modern and actively-maintained mobile UI testing framework designed to deliver more stable tests, simplified test authoring, and enhanced developer experience. The primary objective of this proposal is to improve the reliability, maintainability, and clarity of UI testing for the Rocket.Chat mobile codebase by setting up Maestro, converting existing tests, expanding test coverage, and integrating the testing pipeline into GitHub Actions CI/CD workflow.
