<p>At present, In Hackweek app, a user can post a project/idea and others can only interact through comments and then join the project. But, Hackweek currently has very less user interaction because of no notifications or emails about what is happening with their project idea or with their comment. Hackweek’s user experience is also not up to the marks as per now, which can also be the possible reason for some user’s less collaboration. In this project, I will improve various aspects of user interaction like improvement of comment's editor, the introduction of notifications/emails and live feeds in the hackweek tool.</p>

<p>Pinyin input method plays a significant role among all the input methods in China all the time. Though these pinyin input methods on ibus such as ibus-pinyin and ibus-libpinyin, are more and more popular in China, there are still some shortcomings of low accuracy and low speed, for they always search words from local table dictionary. Accordingly, integrating cloud pinyin in ibus-libpinyin is imperative.</p>

<p>Jangouts (for “Janus Hangouts”) is a videoconferencing tool based on WebRTC and Janus Gateway that provides a self-hosted open source alternative to Google Hangouts. It supports video, audio, screen sharing and textual chat, which are organized into unlimited conference rooms with a configurable number of participants. The major issue of this tool is that the current UI does not fully address the needs of the community. Therefore, the objective of this project is to improve Jangouts so it becomes more user-friendly. This problem can be solved by reaching out to the community members to identify and understand UX issues that will lead to the improvement of the UI.</p>

<p>Audio, video or data packets transmitted over a peer-connection can be lost, and experience varying amounts of network delay. Therefore, a web application like Jangouts, implementing WebRTC expects to monitor the performance of the underlying network and media pipeline. As a solution to this problem, I propose to integrate callstats.io into Jangouts. callstats.io is a SaaS service that helps WebRTC services detect and diagnose media and network quality issues. This project aims to give an option to companies and individuals deploying Jangouts to use this service in a user-friendly way. This task can be completed by sending WebRTC events and measurement data from the Jangouts application and the Janus media server in real-time to callstats.io. The idea is to integrate the callstats.io REST API with the WebRTC components in Jangouts and Janus. The Jangouts app will send endpoint stats and Janus will send the stats related to the WebRTC gateway.</p>

<p>Currently OSEM is a self hosted solution to organize conferences by various organizations developed in Ruby on Rails. Conference organizers all over the world host the application on their own servers to manage their conferences. The idea is to implement multi tenancy so that once hosted, the hosted version can be used by multiple organizations across the globe to manage their conferences.</p>
